“A HELPING HAND FOR PLAYERS IN NEED”

ABOUT THE TRUST

Charitable support for the rugby community in Oxfordshire

The Oxfordshire Rugby PIN Point Trust was originally set up in February 1962 to provide aid and financial assistance to rugby union players and others associated with rugby in need within the county of Oxfordshire.

This independent Trust formally registered as a Charity makes small grants to those associated with rugby – player, coach, or volunteer – to help with the cost of purchasing sundry items of equipment or provide for the provision of medical assistance to assist recovery from injury incurred when participating in the game of rugby within Oxfordshire.

The essence of the Trust is to offer “A Helping Hand for Players In Need “and thus the inclusion of PIN Point within the formal title of the Trust.

The core objectives of the Trust are:

  • To relieve those in necessitous circumstances because of injury whilst playing the game of rugby. An example of a qualifying need might be assisting with travel costs to and from medical appointments
  • To assist persons recovery from injury. An example might be the purchase of a Cryo/Cuff cooler allied to physio treatment

Grants and applications for assistance are only open to individuals and not organisations and applicants will need to show an affiliation to the County of Oxfordshire and an Oxfordshire Rugby Club.

It is important for applicants and all parties to note the following exceptions. The Fund does NOT replace the RFU Players Insurance (Personal Accident Cover), nor does it conflict with the RFU Injured Players Foundation (covering for instance catastrophic spinal cord / traumatic brain injuries) and is NOT a substitute for Self Employed Insurance Cover (covering loss of earnings and personal accident cover). Finally, the Fund will not cover the costs of any dental treatment.
